Randy’s is excellent for many reasons. Here is a short list from my opinion: 1. Awesome to have this local business, that is not a corporate chain. 2. Very professional, clean, comfortable, and friendly staff. 3. Free air pressure system is very much appreciated. 4. Diesel fuel availability is a big plus. 5. Propane gas refills is another big plus. 6. Automotive State inspections are convenient for the local drivers and your waiting room is very nice. 7. Hours of operation are perfect. 6. Fuel prices are excellent. Here are a few suggestions you might consider to help increase your value to the community: 1. When I attended high school in Medfield in the 80’s we had “shop” classes provided in the school system. One of those was an Automotive shop, where students learned how to perform basic maintenance on their family cars. The world has changed since then, and today many young people have no idea how to change a flat tire, much less anything under the hood. You could offer Car Maintenance Clinics on Saturdays to demonstrate basic procedures like how to safely change a flat tire, jump start a car, windshield wipers, check fluids, importance of keeping a car in good maintenance, and other fundamentals. This may sound counter intuitive to generating business, but I believe it would build additional strong relationships and loyalty to your business from the community. 2. I have not seen and police cars being serviced at your shop. Maybe it would be a good idea to make contact with the new Chief, Michelle Guerette (who is very approachable and always open to new opportunities) to propose a service contract for the Medfield fleet. The highway department may do it now, I don’t know. 3. Clearly you are running a great business and I’m sure profitability is a key objective, as it should be. I perform much of my own maintenance on our vehicles so I lean toward DIY first but there have been times when I can’t handle jobs like wheel bearings, CV joints etc. I have received price quotes from you and usually go to other shops because your cost is higher than I have found elsewhere. Medfield has a good financial demographic so maybe it is just best to cater to that crowd. But finding the right balance is something to consider. 4. Do you have loaner vehicles for customers to use? 5. Do you have a flat bed truck to offer a pick-up drop-off service? 6. Have you thought about recurring revenue business models where people pay monthly fee for a package of services? 7. Have you considered a car club service where you could offer annual memberships to car enthusiasts? Towing, lift usage on Sundays, engine hoist short-term parking while cars are being DIY motor work? 8. Is there an opportunity for you to become a certified service provider for EV like Tesla? Are you gearing up for battery technology with the approaching transition to EV? Thank you for the opportunity to share some thoughts. I hope you stay Independant and highly profitable for many years to come. Having your business in town is a wonderful asset to Medfield. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and feedback. A lot of your suggestions we already do and some we can not based on town bylaws or insurance regulations.
